I got myself a copy of Guild Wars, set it up and ran into the same problem.... need an account If they ever come out with a trial period, sign me up as from what I've seen and read it seems to be a very good game. May 1, 200619 yr question.. i have a 2.8ghz/1gb ram/geforce 6600 card computer, but my guild war runs so slow if i increase the graphic settings.. it lags in Cantha even when i set it to the lowest setting. Is this because of my graphic card? what should i upgrade to improve it? (btw according to tarun my hijackthis log file is clean) pliz help i cant stand this snapshot guildwar anymore
May 2, 200619 yr Author Administrator I have a lot of lag in Cantha as well. I'm guessing it's a lot of bugs with the new DirectX9 that they are still working out.
May 2, 200619 yr just curious what's ur fps rate at cantha? mine is around 10 all the time.. sometimes 8.\ and does "-heapsize xxxx" help a lot? i tried it and so far no change to tri/fps/ bites/sec
May 2, 200619 yr Your computer probably could run full maxed-out (except maybe AA) on regular Guild Wars... perhaps Cantha lags because 1, DX9 as Tarun said, but maybe because they've used new effects, i.e., HDR / Bloom, etc. Your computer is 400 mHz faster than mine, not to mention you have a good graphics card.
May 2, 200619 yr okay something i realized... when i first opened guildwars everything runs perfectly fine, but after like 30min to an hour the performance went down dramatically. my FPS went from 16-20 to 6-10. is there a particular reason for this?

May 3, 200619 yr okay i guess the main problem is coz my cpu is overheated, added another fan, problems got better.. but is it normal for GW to use up 90%+ of my cpu? and what type of thermopaste do you recommend?
May 5, 200619 yr AS5 (or AS3), but the application is much more important than which type of Arctic Silver you're using. I haven't opened Guild Wars in AGES =\.
