Sniper
I don't know if it's safe to dump the rest but DO NOT mess with Explorer. Windows uses it to access your files. Delete it and you're screwed, big time.
Administrator Tarun Posted November 29, 2005 Administrator Share Posted November 29, 2005 You can safely remove MSN Explorer, Movie Maker and Frontpage. Sniper is referring to Windows Explorer.

Monkey Proof
ok, i deleted those 3 items. frontpage and movie maker were some what of a pain to get rid of. but i managed, i went into safe mode. i was surprised that ccleaner did not find as many issues that i thought it would. Corey
I removed MS Works 7.0 when I saw 250 MB of resources to keep it on.... Tarun knows how much I pay attention to the resources a program takes....on my old system I had ..lets just say...limited resources.

Ultimate Predator
I agree, OpenOffice is awesome. Two things with it that aren't as good, moving tables in the Word program, and their small choice of backgrounds on Draw (you can't combine two colours to mka ean awesome background like MS Office). However it has some far better things with it than MS Office, get it.
SenutyEnool
Quick question, is OpenOffice backwards compatible with MSOffice? Need to know as I take a fair whack of work home and at work we only use MSOffice. Cheers :hello:
SenutyEnool
Okay it is, so I might give it a whirl then seeing it's supposedly takes less resources than MSOffice. Cheers for that :hello:
Corey
I had open office installed the same day I uninstalled Works 7.0... Nice program but is just as lengthy as Works 7.0...I like it.. Yes , I took a look at Abi Word and I liked it...But I will stick with the open office word processor for now , until I feel the urge for a change ...then it's abi word.. :hello:
