Posted September 15, 200618 yr What do you guys suggest i do before i install the RC1? should i go as far as backing up everything? or will creating a system restore point work? also, can i install this on a virtual machine? )corjello(
September 15, 200618 yr Administrator Some people have issues installing it on a Virtual PC. If you feel comfortable, make a new partition and install Vista on there. :D
September 15, 200618 yr Author ok, i need a freeware partition manager to do that right? any suggestions? and how big of a partition? )corjello(
September 15, 200618 yr You could also install another HDD and make it the master. If the partitioning software screws-up you have lost your contents of the HDD.

Then, get a serial code from Paragon here. Thats what I did, now I just have to take the chance of losing everything on my computer this weekend when I try it out.

September 16, 200618 yr Administrator Can be either. You need a high end graphics card and over 512MB RAM.
September 16, 200618 yr Author well then, ill just move that harddrive over to my better computer and install vista on that. is that possible? to have two seperate hardrives with two operating systems running one on each? or do i have to fiddle with the slave/master setup? )corjello(
September 16, 200618 yr Can be either. You need a high end graphics card and over 512MB RAM. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>If your meaning the card to have 512MB of RAM on it then thats wrong. Vista *ONLY recommends cards with DirectX 9.0 and with 128MB and at least... 128-bit. Vista recommends to have 1GB of RAM to run but you need more like 2GB.
September 16, 200618 yr Administrator I'm referring to two things. 1. You need a high end graphics card. 2. You need over 512MB of RAM. :D
September 16, 200618 yr Author but thats not an issue if i move my hardrive from my old computer and install it on my highend new computer..... )corjello(

Dang... My PC can run it but I'm buying more RAM. I'll have a total of 1536! You can't go wrong here. CPU - AMD Athlon Xp 2000+ 1.6ghz RAM - Total of 1536 *PC2700 Graphics Card - PowerColor ATI 9600PRO 256MB of RAM DDR 128-bit 400/400mhz *DirectX 9.0 Hard Drive - 80GB WD 7200RPM 2MB
December 25, 200618 yr Personally, I think XP SP3 will be pretty **** good. I'll get Vista when I have get a laptop, but I'm not to worried about it.
December 25, 200618 yr Administrator I'll hopefully be getting Vista Business for free. Even my server ran it nicely. :happybday:
December 26, 200618 yr I'll hopefully be getting Vista Business for free. How have you managed that? Is it a perk of working in a tech shop?
December 26, 200618 yr Administrator Nah, I watched three webcasts and I'm supposed to get it free for watching them.
December 27, 200618 yr So you was one of the lucky first 30,000 people to watch the webcasts then hopefully. Did you go for the Office 2007 as well?
December 27, 200618 yr Administrator I tried, but their servers were so bogged down I never got to finish.
