Good to see most of the old gang is still posting here & assisting ppl like me. anyways, I have a new lap top w/ W7, but for the life of me i cannot find a way to uninstall wmp that comes w/ it or even install wmp 11(which i love) on top of the one originally installed in my laptop. When I logined to my gmail account last night, something popped up showing that my account was logined in some other places. I suspect that my computer was installed with some kind of spy software, trying to peep into my files. For personal reasons, I have several people have access to my computer. I've ever heard that there are some kinds of spy software which are said to be undetectable, like the remote desktop spy software. Is it true? And how can I tell if my computer the spy software?

Up until recently (around a week ago) my brand new super fast computer suddenly began to take forever to start up. I'm running Windows 7 and the last thing that happened before the problem was me installing Crysis, but the problem started a day or two after that. I've heard that other people got the same problem with different precursors, so I don't think Crysis is to blame. Any ideas anyone?

Anyone having problems with explorer crashing? I've had this happen at least 10 times while transferring large files(4gigs +) from my portable drives to my win7 computer. The problem is that when it happens it doesn't just crash and then work again, it will crash and have to restart 6-7 times before its functional again. The problem being that I won't be able to easily restart the file copying, so I have to start all over. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this?

Engadget says they’ve unearthed a confidential memo from Best Buy that gives away some pricing information for Windows 7. According to the memo, Best Buy will kick off its Technology Guarantee program on June 26. Beginning on that date, you’ll be able to buy a PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate and get a coupon good for a free upgrade to Windows 7 when it’s released in October. That matches up with information I’ve heard as well and is consistent with how Microsoft has handled product launches in the past. The other, more interesting detail is that Best Buy plans to pre-sell select versions of Windows 7 online, for a 16-day period that runs fr…

Internet Explorer 8 now got syntax highlighting in the view source thing. Also got "InPrivate" browsing mode, and integration with Microsoft's Live services. It got a "Snipping Tool" to take screenshots of just part of the screen that you select with a rectangle. It got "Sticky Notes" which is like virtual post-it notes. This is nice. It comes with "Windows Media Center", a software that you can run on HTPC (home-theater PC). I heard that they had removed the Windows Classic theme, and was disappointed by it, but I am glad to discover that it is still there. As account picture, you can have a kitten, yay! You can also have some strange kind of robot. …
