    Alright, so whatever it is, it has a few nasty effects. First, whenever I click a link in a google search it doesnt go to it, it merely opens up a newtab in firefox and goes to some advertisement.     Followed all the cleanup instructions to the letter. My install of NOD32 fails to run in safe mode, used the online scanner but gave up after 2 hours and 50%.
