RTZ Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 not quite sure what your getting at . all i know is it was 19.95 and was never listed as freeware before by major geeks,. this is just an fyi. not an endorsement for this company. its a sort of more of a helpful hint., cause to most average pc users firewalls can be a hassle.( Eldmannen im hoping ubuntu cd comes soon in mail cannot wait thanks again )
greenknight Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Edited list again - Removed Comodo BOClean, as AVG Free now provides the same functionality. Having both was slowing performance.
greenknight Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 More changes: added SuperAntiSpyware; replaced Who's Connected with CurrPorts, which gives more info about programs that have opened ports.
RTZ Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I have these protecting my System. Eset Smart Security, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware with paid protection module on. SpyBot S&D and SUPERAntispyware as secondary scanners. and Spyware Blaster. For Disk Management I use Diskeeper home edition 2008 and CCleaner
Ultimate Predator Posted August 5, 2008 Author Posted August 5, 2008 All the security related software, browser, disk cleaner, email client, firewall, and other utilities that I recommend can all be downloaded via Anti-Malware Toolkit, which makes my life and everyone else's easier when it comes to downloading all of it. For all the other software that I recommend, here is the list: CD/DVD Management: AVStoDVD, DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Windows Media Player 11 (Included in Windows) Disk Management: JKDefrag and Recuva File-Sharing: BitTorrent and Frostwire FTP: FileZilla Graphics: Paint.NET Instant Messenger: Windows Live Messenger with A-Patch Media Players/Codecs: Real Alternative, QT Lite, VLC Media Player and Windows Media Player 11 (Included in Windows) Office: Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise or OpenOffice PC Visuals: XPize or Vize Utilities: 7Zip, iNFO, Foxit Reader and Unlocker Web Program: Notepad ++ Only Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise costs money from the list above though you can use the brilliant OpenOffice (which soon I am going to switch too completely) as an alternative.
RTZ Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Wow, I really like the features of A Patch program but I only use old MSN one that came with OS. But do not care too much for live MSN too bloated. Well anyway those are all good solid programs you have Ultimate Predator.

You should try the new liver verison with A-Patch, it has hundreds more features. And as I'm sure you know, you don't have to change you msn address or anything.
RTZ Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Just added Hazard Shield as an additional backup Anti-Spyware Scanner.
greenknight Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Edited list again, replaced AVG Free 8 with Avast 4.8 Home Edition. Also removed Avast Software Cleaner, now redundant. I like the AVG 8 GUI better, but it's way too much of a drag on performance. I kept hoping it was just teething problems with the new version that would be fixed soon, but it's been awhile and no improvement. Everything loads much faster now.
Administrator Tarun Posted January 23, 2009 Administrator Posted January 23, 2009 Refer to the new sticky for the new year. :P
