A recent update has come out for the StopForumSpam hook that is used here. It allows for better control and handling of potential spammers. This includes allowing potential false positives or those who are linked to an IP that at one time was spam to still register. There will be a few tests done with this new update to find what works optimally. As always, if you see a spam post or even a potential spam post please report it. Don't reply to the spammer or comment on how the automated spam bot has bumped a thread, etc.

The Lunarsoft frontpage has been updated. The first update occurred two days ago though I was unable to post about it. Another update hit today so this is a double update post notification. If any bugs are found, please post and describe what you were doing so we can recreate the issue.

I have changed the hook used on the forums from one that used only StopForumSpam to a new one that will use both StopForumSpam and Project Honeypot to check for and stop spammers from registering. While this system is not perfect, it will help catch and prevent the majority from registering. Using the previous hook, there were over 15,000 spammers stopped. However, the hook was bugged at one point and did not track all of the spammers caught. So this number is bound to be much higher. The new hook that implements both StopForumSpam and Project HoneyPot allows the number of blocked spammers to be shown in the board statistics. Once I ensure it's working well I will make…

Our frontpage has been upgraded to the latest version, 2.5.x. If you encounter any bugs or issues, please post here and let us know along with how you were browsing so that we can recreate the issue to the best of our ability.

In order to help stop some of the spam registrations here on the forums I have just added and enabled a StopForumSpam hook. This hook will check registrations against the StopForumSpam database, checking key factors such as email addresses and IP addresses. If their IP or email is matched in the StopForumSpam database, this user is automatically banned and cannot use the forums. If you come across a spammer or even a potential spammer, please don't hesitate to hit the Report button so the Lunarsoft Team can look into it. Edit: Since installing this it's blocked eight spammers within three hours.

Lunarsoft does not support SOPA or PIPA. These bills should never have come into existence. We urge you to contact your representatives and let them know there is nothing good about SOPA/PIPA, it hurts everyone.
