I was not able to install Turbo Tax. It complained that it could not upgrade .NET Framework to version 3.5. I have Googled for several hours and did not find a solution. There were lots of explanations about why the problem occurs but no answers. Some things I have tried were to remove all verions of .NET; uninstall Windows SP3; and reinstall .NET v1.0 but it fails to install KB953295. Dial-a-fix also fails with a message: "Error 214623574 was encountered while trying to register c:\windows\system32\mscoree.dll $1Ý£££dial-a-fix currently has no suggestions" I am also getting strange behavior in IE. For example, downloads fail just by never responding to the IE do…

Dial-a-fix is stuck on unregistering scardssp.dll. At the same time, two windows keeps popping up, both under the label of Bluetooth software. One says, "Please wait while Windows configures Bluetooth software," and the other one says, "Please execute 'setup.exe' for install or upgrade." Then the only way to get out of those windows is to end the task through task manager.

I just installed Dial A Fix (Ver 0.60.0.24) and checked off all the sections to run... Everything was going well till it got to SSL/HTTPS/Cryptography. It has been on this section for well over an hour and doesn't appear to be doing anything. It says it is closing the Cryptic service. I tried to cancel the operation and it is still canceling 30 min. later. Is it suppose to take this long to run when it gets to section 4? sag UPDATE I figured out why DAF was hanging on Cryptography...I run ZA pro and apparently Truevector (vsmon.exe) is associated with it so since you can't stop vsmon DAF couldn't stop Cryptography. I turned ZA off and bingo...it went through just fi…

Version: 06.0.24 Additional info: I would like to run dialafix as a command-line program or background process. I would run these on behalf of my customer using a remote software product (like a webex). Do you offer such an interface? If not, is there some kind of licensing you offer that provides API's to these tools? Cheers!

Hi there, I recently ran DAF's Permissions utility on two computers after a registry cleaner (RegSeeker 1.55) apparently saw fit to relieve me of access to many registry keys on both. The only symptoms I'd had (so far!) were inability to install a higher version of Adobe Reader on one, and broken WMP video playback -- with inability to re-register wmp.dll -- on the other. At first I came across and applied that workaround of adding "Everyone" with full control to parent keys, but then read that that's not a permanent or wise way to go. So I used DAF and it fixed many key permissions on both (thank you!). But below are some remaining secrepair log errors from the XP Home S…

I am getting a weird error on my Citrix server. For some reason Dial-a-Fix thinks that Windows and it's sub directories are located in the domain profile of the user (i.e. C:\d and s\administrator\windows). Does anyone know if there is a registry fix or a software fix for this problem? Cannot run Dial-a-fix on the citrix server until I can fix this problem. Help?!!?

Had same problem with IE8 as everyone else. Then thought I ought to check your home pages and discovered that v6.024 does not play well with IEv8...did discover there is a 1.0 in the works which will either work with IE v8 and higher or, at the very least, will ignore it so the error messages stop. Can anyone tell me/us when we might find a later version of Dial-a-fix than v 6.024? This small program does big things and I look fwd to getting the latest and greatest as soon as it is available.
