  2. OK, I checked out one of our Visitors requests at our for an an evaluation of his product. Said he had a new security software company in RU. Flags went off right away, but I checked out the site and downloaded OSAM Auto Manager. Interesting product, upon Installing it things were going well, then Comodo firewall flagged a request for direct access to my Keyboard, ohhh, I din't like that and said " deny access" this is a great example of why Comodo Firewall Pro is an excellent product. the product Install continued , no bad effect from saying "NO access" , then it asked for Direct access to the hard-drive, well many programs need that like disk management and defraggers, …

Recently I've been considering adding SUPERAntiSpyware to the PC Maintenance guide and into the distributed packages in LunarDownloader. Should this be included, Windows Defender most likely will be removed and replaced by SAS. I would like to hear thoughts and opinions on this choice. :)

  4. My computer updated Firefox and Zone Alarm in the same day. Was previously having to shut down ZA to get on internet. Now everything is screwed up. Tried dial-a-fix which says Error -2147023824 encountered while trying to register Windows\system32\wuaueng.dll - Also my computer will not shut down now. Absolutely NO internet. Word messes up and lots of applications seem to get hung. I am trying to research problems one by one. I am retired and taking classes to learn more about fixing my computer-still in learning stage and trying to put all info received in my poor muddled brain together. Any advice is welcome!

SUPERAntispyware Professional did not catch it or prevent it either did my Nod 32. MBAM found it and removed it easily. So my question then is this should I go back to using Avira PREMIUM which I have a paid key for, would that be better protection against Rootkits. Any insight into this would be most appreciated . EDITED; I was just at both the Eset and Avira Websites and it seems only the Avira Antivirus actually states anywhere it has antirootkit protection. So back to using Avira Premium.

The GNU Image Manipulation Program, or GIMP, is a free raster graphics editor used to process digital graphics and photographs. Typical uses include creating graphics and logos, resizing and cropping photos, altering colors, combining multiple images, removing unwanted image features, and converting between different image formats. GIMP can also be used to create basic animated images in GIF format. It is often used as a free software replacement for Adobe Photoshop, the most widely used bitmap editor in the printing and graphics industries; however, it is not designed to be a Photoshop clone. The long awaited 2.6 release is out. http://gimp.org/release-notes/gimp-2…

  8. Hi. I felt so fortunate the other day when I ran across this Lunarsoft Wiki page: https://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/PC_Cleanup You had come to so many of the same conclusions that I had come to for getting rid of malware: http://members.aol.com/catholicanew/helpse...yremoval001.htm I hadn't heard of RogueRemover FREE until I read the above Lunarsoft page, and I installed it today and think it's a neat little program. You may already know that Malwarebytes.org no longer updates RogueRemover FREE, but just in case, I wanted to pass on to you what Marcin at Malwarebytes confirmed via e-mail to me: I e-mailed Marcin: Could you please tell me if the following is …

  19. I don't think that people really mind having malware on their computers. When you point out that they have a virus or spyware, they're like "oh, okay". If you tell them to get a antivirus, they're like whatever, or "maybe later". When you clean their computer and inform them that they had 1473 instances of malware, they're like "ok". They don't seem to care. I remember the last time I got a malware infection on my computer. I clenched my fist and cussed like a drunken sailor. :)

Hi Tarun I was doing a web search when I received a message from spybot that the registry has changed - ITBARLayout -hex11,00,00,40,00................. Allow or deny. I denied it but it keeps poping up. I did a google search and I suddenly received a warning from Antivirus 2008 that I had virus's on my system. No matter what I did I could not get rid of this. It did a scan and then said if I wanted to remove these viruses I need to register at a fee! This really p...ssd me off as I feel I am being pushed into something I don't want! Do you know anything about ITBARLayout or AntiVirus 2008. It keeps popping onto my screen whithout any prompting from me. How d…
