G'day folks, found this program today and must say it's absolutely brilliant. I've used 'RAM Cleaners' in the past and none have been as fast or effective as this one. My system was running at 592mb and it released my RAM down to 192 with no visible slowing down of my system or running applications what-so-ever. Give it a try, it has a 30 trial period and see what you think. CyberLat RAM Cleaner Cheers :P

Does anyone know how to disable the dial-up connection in Firefox, without screwing up the dial-up in Explorer. I have wireless access point in range that I connect to with Firefox but it's unsecure so I use my dial-up and Explorer to do my e-mail and bills. When I'm on the wireless, Firefox will, occasionally, try to activate the dial-up. Annoying. BTW.....I am firewalled out the wazoo.

i need a good converter that can convert PNG images to ICO. i've tried so far png2ico.exe(along with a GUI for it), XNView, IrfanView, but none of them can do what i need. png2ico doesn't even convert, XNView DID the job but the bit-depth was all messed up, IrfanView made it inso 128x128(original was 256x256). so any thoughts?

Yesterday I used WinBackup, which was suggested in the Freeware thread. For starters I was soooo easy. Many thanks to whomever posted that one. XP's backup utility is impossible. After the backup process finished a screen was displayed which stated "Backup 80 Warnings". I was just wondering if I should be concerned or not? Did the warnings not backup? Here are a few examples. 2006-02-24 15:05:39 Backup Operation Completed, Elapsed Time: 01:27:33, Bytes Written to Target: 1.56 GB 2006-02-24 15:05:28 Verify Failed: wmiprov.log, C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\Logs\wmiprov.log 2006-02-24 15:05:28 Verify Failed: wbemess.log, C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\Logs\wbemess.log 2…

G'day folks, I'm making an arbitrary guess here that a lot of you have MP3 capable playback systems/machines that do not have stackers. For those of you that like to make your own music CD/DVDs and wish there was a way around not having a stacker and are sick of having to change CD/DVDs continuously a trick that I came across some time ago is that you are able to put 160 MP3 music files on 1 CD and up to 800+ MP3 files onto a DVD and they will play back perfectly. Now with those figures quoted above I'm averaging a simple MP3 file as 5Mb and at approximately 4 minutes duration, this will give you on average of over 13 hours of listening pleasure on 1 CD and a who…

I've been playing around with Regseeker a little bit, and a have a few questions. Does anyone else use this? Are all Invalid ActiveX/COM (CLSID) entries okay to delete? Or do you need to determine which ones that you need? There alot of them, but I haven't deleted them because when I veiw them in the registry they're just strings. It doesn't tell me what the string is associated with. *I obviously don't know alot about ActiveX/COM entries* :eyeroll: Also, can you manually add anything that you want into the exclusions list? Andavari gave me his exclusion list, but I don't remember if I'm supposed to copy/paste or whatever. I must say that I do like the p…

I finally managed to talk my brother into letting me remove Norton from our main work computer yesterday, (only took me about a year of nagging). Anyway he said to me "sort the computer out it is really running slow", so I said to him "ok, I will get rid of Norton then". I was only joking though because I didn't think he would let me. But he said "ok, just make sure everything else is up to date then", so I said to him "just making sure everything else is up to date is not going to do anything, we still need a firewall and anti-virus", so then he said "just leave Norton on then and do whatever else to speed it up". I ignored him at this point and downloaded Avast and Z…
