  2. Started by Tarun,

A lot of the programming I did many years ago (2001-2003) in VB6 was a few chat based bots and a client. The bots are Prima Vista Bot 1 and Prima Vista Bot 2. PVBot 1 had tabs to sort through the items available. It wasn't the best but it was my first chat bot that I made in under two months. PVBot 2 was a lot better, labels used to navigate through items with mouseovers and more. Lunar Client was one of my best applications under Visual Basic. An MDI application featuring numerous windows for chat rooms, PMs and more. It was even at two chat services for a certain amount of time. One services then claimed it was not authorized so I ceased to support the c…

Are there any well known programs out there that allow a person to create a virtual network, or some efficient way of sharing files easily over a pair of computers that aren't in the same house? My brother attends ohio state, and i live in georgia, so I was wondering if there is an easy solution for us to easily share files between our computers. )corjello(

http://www.turboexplorer.com/delphi Borland's "Turbo" name is back, and now you can download Turbo editions of Borland's products for free! (Basically, they're competition for Visual Studio and its "Express" line of free compilers/IDEs.) So if you wanna get legit (i.e., not using Delphi 7 SE or some other pirated version) and want to use the latest (2006) IDE, they are now available for download. C++, C#, and Delphi for .NET compilers are available, as well!

  6. Test out all the variants of this TEST virus (it doesn't harm your system). good anti-virus should pick up all 4 versions, CA (which I won't use anymore), didn't pick up the zipped ones. I'm sticking with Avast now: http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_file.htm

  11. I just installed Ubuntu Linux on a 25-ish GB partition of my 160 gig drive... it turns out it isn't so bad, missing some of the functionality of Windows, and the command-line based structure (UNIX stuff) is confusing me somewhat. I kept my XP install, of course, because I still play games from time to time ( ) but Ubuntu seems capable enough to serve as a 'work' OS. I went through a fair amount of trouble to get this install even started (because my hardware never seems to work), and if I get around to it I'll post some solutions that other people might be looking for. In the meantime, does anyone know of any guides, or have any tips and tricks for a newbie-Linux …

Even though I never recommend them to other users, I personally would like to know what safe registry cleaners are there? I used CCleaner (with backup) and RegSeeker with RegSeeker customized exclude.ini file from the CCleaner forums (with backup), after my system was acting slightly slower than normal (no spyware or anything), and it made a noticable difference. Are these the safest to use, and if not, what is?

  19. For those that want to try it, (I'm using it on my machine), the new CA Anti-Virus 2007 is out: http://home2.ca.com/servlet/ControllerServ...00&Env=BASE My only gripe is that because the CA Security Center is displayed, there is always a warning symbol on it, because the other products aren't installed.

  20. Yep, neither play correctly, mostly the sound is way out of sync with the picture, or sometimes there is no picture, or sometimes very jerky (both sound and picture). A Any help to fix this annoying problem (after all the stress to get HD Files to Download), would be very much appreciated.

Although this is a Mac problem, hopefully someone can figure out how to solve it, since it does involve Windows... My problem is the following: I have an iBook G4 that I use at school to access my files, Internet, etc. Up to now, everything has been fine until my school decided to put Websense on the school's wireless Internet. Now, I have spoken with the network administrators in order to grant me unfiltered access to the Internet for school-related and personal purposes and they decided that it would be alright. Since the beginning of the year, I have been connecting and authenticating to my school's wireless network by using the 802.1X WEP security option …

Hello everyone, it's me again I was wondering... I don't know if I've seen this before, but is there a way to send someone a quick little 'sketch' as opposed to making an image, saving it, then e-mailing it to them. Basically what I need is a quick way to send them a drawing for a math problem. Does anyone know if there is an application or website out there that will allow two users to 'draw' on a board, etc. and share ideas? Sorry if it's a little vague...

While there are many who may not like Internet Explorer (myself included), you should still consider upgrading. As of this post there is one known exploit for IE7, however; there are a great number of benefits to upgrading. Remember that the IECore is integrated in with the OS. That means that there are frequent API and DLL calls. Now, what does all of this mean? Let's look at all these programs that exist that use the IE Engine. McAfee, Norton, Maxthon, the list goes on. If you view some types of help, run MS Office, MS Money or use most any HTML editor then you are indirectly using IE. So go ahead and upgrade today. IE7 will be faster and perform better tha…

  25. Anyone know how to fix this problem? It just doesn't connnect on start-up, and then, when you go to IE 7 where it automatically connects, the page cannot be displayed until IE7 is restarted.
