  4. The release of Internet Explorer 7 is finally just around the corner with Microsoft announcing the availability of Release Candidate 1 (RC1). Some experts are already advising IE6 users to migrate to the new web browser now. Microsoft maintains that it probably will not need to go to a second release candidate and the feeling is that RC1 is almost the finished product. The major differences between IE7 RC1 and the previous beta releases are in improved performance and the ability to install it automatically without the need to manually uninstall previous versions. There are also additional language options. Read more -> ITWire ______________________________…

  5. Started by Tarun,

Note: Don't get me wrong, I actually really like the Opera browser. It has a lot of promise on getting me switched over. But I'm ranting about my issues with it and why I'm sticking with Firefox. I tried it, but I can't stand not being able to place the toolbars where I want. Seems to have fits with cookies too. IE: not remembering your logins and such. It has several site displays really screwed up too, which is a shame. :\ I definitely miss right clicking on my bookmarks (see them in the screenshot) and being able to have them on a special toolbar that is aligned with the menu bar. There is a personal bar you can add, but you can't reposition the toolbars an…

Hey gang, StorageCraft is currently offering a free license for their ShadowSurfer software. You can get it here: ShadowSurfer Free Download I downloaded my copy a few days ago and installed it on my VPC. It's pretty cool software actually. Important: Do not enter your credit card information on the final order page or it will fail. Check the "Phone Me" option or choose the option to print it out instead. And for those who don't pay attention, make sure you enter the coupon code or you won't get it for free. The coupon code is SURFER. This software is a lot like that of DeepFreeze, so it can be very useful if you use it right. :D

Having not tried a-squared since last September, see here. I just wondered if anyone has given it a shot lately. It was only seeing in mentioned on Cleaner forums recently that reminded me about it. I will actually install it and see if it finds anything, whether it be legitimate finds or false positives, but would like others feedback as well.

Seems Firefox 1.5.0.5 wouldn't work with Windows Media Player on some sites, so a quick update is in the works. RC1 is already available here. Don't know if there will be an RC2, sounds like this update is on the fast track.

does anyone know how to fully reinstall IE? basically, there's an annoying bug with IE where if I click Search, IE crashes along with explorer. i've tried upgrading to IE7 Beta 3 but for some reason, i can't delete(or maybe edit) the regkey "HKCU\Classes\https" and because of that, the installer can't complete the instalation. edit: also, the main browser that I use is Opera, but my dad still needs IE because of ActiveX.

Anyone know how to take a screenshot when the DVD is playing? I know it can be done in PowerDVD, though I'm unsure how in VLC. I know they have Snapshot but there's no real directions on how it works. I may be getting it but missing a step or something. So yeah, I'm new to VLC (just under a week of having it).

 Another problem which I am having difficulties with.. I think I might just reformat my computer soon, after my brother finishes yr 12, I can wipe all his crap which he says he 'needs' atm.. hmm Well, I got c4d. I had it since yesterday, its working fine. Then all of a sudden, whenever I wanted to render it, it has an error, which auto-terminates the program! So, I decided to uninstall it, I go to uninstall it, what do you know? There is no shortcut, UNWISE.EXE.. So I cant uninstall it! What ways, can I cleanly uninstall it? Or prevent the problem happening in the program? The program, isnt even opening for me now? Thanks heaps -
