I'm trying to find a good DVD Recorder/Player with VHS. The old Grouch has a ton of VHS tapes that she wants to put on DVDs. I really don't know enough to just jump in and buy one. Looking for recommendations. Brand doesn't matter to me, just want a good one. I've heard about the "Commercial Skip" and being able to Edit out bad places. Would like to have one to do that. Also would like one to play HD DVDs. I have a TV that is HD. Also any other goodies that one might need. I'm an Old F**t that has very little knowledge about technology. I've tried to keep up but stay behind. I burn disks OK, can get around the PC, usually with good results. Also, would …

Ok, the Archos 104 4GB up towards the JetAudio iAudio X5 30GB. There's no surprise that their is a BIG difference. The Archos 104 ONLY plays Audio while the iAudio plays videos "at a amazing good FPS rate" and Audio. The only good thing is that the Archos 104 plays by ID3 Tag which being that plays by Artist, Album, Etc. though the iAudio has a BIG HDD containing 20/30GB. I have videos but for me I'm not the one to play videos. I'm mainly into just playing Music. The iAudio has no LED Light so you CAN'T tell if it's on or in Usage. The Archos has a LED showing power,HDD Usage (Which is a BIG plus for me), and charge light. In all I'll probably get the Archos be…

Every now and then if I shut off my computer, (this doesn't happen often, except in a storm like we had last night) then when I go to turn my computer back on, my monitor won't show anything even tho it's on. I have to click the monitor off and on just to get to the desktop, internet site etc. Finally it will stay on so I can actually SLOW surf. (due to dial up) LOL What's up with that? It took me 45 minutes turning it on and off today. BTW my Dell is almost 2 whole years old. Thanks in advance peeps

This has been happening for ages now, I was wondering if anyone (Tarun has been helping loads) could fix this problem? This is my current C-Media list: Here is what I have done so far: Checked all Sound Settings on my PC to see if thats what causing the problem - so far it appears not. Put new speakers in - same problem. Tried with headphones - same problem. Checked for new driver on http://driveragent.com/ - I have the latest driver - I can download the driver again as a backup, but it costs money - and it says I don't have to, as I have the latest version. Anything else anyone can suggest?

Hi, I have two Hard Drives. HDD 74.5GB HDD 28.6GB And I've been having them both shut off at random times. Either when listening to music or surfing the web. I've done a Disk check with the Software for both HDD with their programs as provided from the company. I don't know if it's the PS which is 300WATTS. Heres the Case it self... Current Case And I've had it for about... 9 months now. I can only mount one HDD on that case and I have the 74.5GB in now which hasn't shut off. When it does my computer freezes and left me to restart. What I did to may of stopped the shut downs is I switched around some power connectors and it could be that some have gone…

I have a toshiba Satellite M35X-S149 laptop and I seem to been having battery issues lately. My power cord when I plug in is not charging or is being read by the laptop... Sometimes it does with the AC light on and now its being a pain to get it to charge the battery while I am using it. I have to mess with the cord alot. I thought at first it was the power pack, but when I turn off the puter the light comes on to charge. I aslo took the laptop battery out and tried to start it just with the AC and it didn't work. Any suggestions or questions cause lord knows I forgot something.....

Surely a USB port either works or does not work, there can't be no in between. Which is what seems to be happening to me. I have been trying to install a Belkin wireless USB network adapter on a computer. Everything starts ok, I install the software, it tells me to plug in the adaptor, I plug it in, it gets recognised, the installation carries on, the computer reboots, blah blah blah. I go to configure the adaptor, and windows cannot see it anymore, it tells me to plug it in, I already did during the installation and windows could see it then, why not now? I have phoned Belkin support and they tell me the USB port is at fault. Is there a way that anybody kno…

Upon recent research, Wireless N will not be out until April of 2008. Any N products you hear about currently will be Pre or Draft N. The range is an increase of 60 feet, totalling 160 feet. Other increases will be the data transfer. N will be a huge step forward in wireless networking. Here's a look at the specs. 802.11b Release date: 1999 Frequency: 2.4GHz Typical Data Rate: 6.5 Mbit/s Max Data Rate: 11 Mbit/s Range (Indoors): 100 feet 802.11g Release date: June 2003 Frequency: 2.4GHz Typical Data Rate: 25 Mbit/s Max Data Rate: 54 Mbit/s Range (Indoors): 100 feet 802.11n Release date: April 2008 (Pre/Draft is already available) Frequency: 2…

I was running my DSL internet from the modem to a switchboard without the use of a router and it got to the point where that no longer worked. So now I have a SpeedStream 4200 modem going to a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (was just lying around) to my switchboard. I need to know how to access the port forwarding options for my modem. I am able to get to my Linksys router by typing in my IP address into my browser but i dont know how to access the modem. Can someone tell me how to access my modem?

Hi everyone, I've had a minor problem, my computer crashed in the middle of a Windows Update (critical info or not, I'm not too sure), and now only 1 RAM stick is being detected. I have two, one newer, Kingston Value RAM, a 512MB stick, and an older, 256MB stick. Right now, only the older, 256mb stick is being detected by windows and FreeRAMXP... Ideas? All BIOS RAM settings are normal.

Ok, I'm not very good at describing things but here it goes... I am currently using a speedstream 6520 (Siemens I believe) and I am connected to the modem via ethernet and NOT usb as that was what was recommended by my isp. For a while I had no problems whatsoever but recently the modem has been suddenly stopping (the dsl light specifically) cutting me off from my precious online games. So, I was just wondering, why my dsl router is suddenly stopping? It will stop and then come back, but boy is it annoying because it happens frequently! I might be going camping soon, so if I'm not able to respond promptly, thanks in advance, Regards, Ryan
